Åland is an archipelago and a self-governing, demilitarized landscape in Finland. It is located in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden, and consists of over 6,500 islands, the largest of which is called Fasta Åland. Åland is Swedish-speaking and has 29 214 inhabitants. The capital is called Mariehamn.
