Now it is time to sign up for the major cycling festival in Gothenburg on 9–10 May. The programme includes the Nordic Championships and a pre-European Championships event, and above all the UCI Continental Series XCO, with no fewer than twelve golden tickets at stake – extremely attractive wildcard entries to the World Cup.

Registration open for Continental Series XCO/Nordic Championships XCO 9 May, Gothenburg MTB Race/Nordic Championships 2026 10 May.

On Saturday 9 May, Gothenburg and Skatås will be buzzing with international elite MTB riders as a total of 12 Golden Tickets are up for grabs. Riders outside the MTB World Cup can win a ticket straight into the big World Cup itself. Who will seize the chance to claim a golden ticket in the elite/U23/junior categories? You will find out if you come to Gothenburg on 9 May. It is not only golden tickets that will be handed out. The weekend will also feature the Nordic Championships in XCO for Nordic riders in the Elite, Junior, U23, youth and masters categories.

Regular registration closes on Sunday 3 May 2026. Here is what three key people have to say about the situation ahead of the event:

"With the Continental Series, we are moving Swedish mountain biking forward on the world stage. Gothenburg MTB Race is no longer just a date on the calendar – it is the gateway to the absolute world elite. By offering the coveted 'Golden Ticket', we are giving the sharpest U23 and elite cyclists outside the professional teams a unique shortcut straight into the World Cup. A full 12 Golden Tickets are at stake in connection with Saturday's races," says Daniel Dandenell Lägersten, Commercial Director of Gothenburg MTB Race.

"It is great to have a cycling festival in a major city like Gothenburg. A good dress rehearsal for the upcoming 2027 European MTB Championships, where many young Swedish cyclists will want to fight for medals on home soil. This year CK Master is organising a Continental Series XCO round (European Cup) for the first time in Sweden, so if it is a success there will hopefully be more rounds to come. Come to Gothenburg, you do not want to miss this," says Malin Lindgren Henttonen, who is the Swedish Cycling Federation's Head of International Events.

And this is what David Green, Event Manager at CK Master, says:

"This is our 'pre-European Championships' and also the 2026 Nordic Championships. With major UCI points, prize money and a ticket to the biggest stage in the pot, we are turning Gothenburg into an international hotspot. We are here to stay, and we are here to give the next generation of stars the chance to write history on home soil."

Welcome to a high-speed MTB festival in Gothenburg!
