38 new Nordic Masters Champions
Nordic Masters Championship Time Trial and Road race were held in idyllic Åland on the 3. and 4. of August.
Nordic championships in Time Trial and Road race for Masters cyclists have long and good traditions. This year the championships were held in Finland, who chose the summer paradise of Åland in the Baltic Sea as an arena. In total, there were over 250 registered in the two disciplines.
The competitions were good, where especially the Road Race on Sunday gave many exciting fights. The routes were relatively flat, but still demanding in the wind.
Sweden won the national match, ahead of Norway, Denmark and Finland.
The Nordic Championship has previously been organized by the Nordic Cycling Federation. As it has now been continued through Nordic Cycling, future championships will also get participants from Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Iceland. This year, in order to mark the transition, medals were handed out both from the Nordic Cycling Federation and from Nordic Cycling.
Next year's championship will take place in Sweden on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August
