Nordic Cycling Commissaires Seminar held in Vilnius

22/01/2026

The Nordic Cycling Commissaires Seminar took place on 16–18 January in Vilnius, bringing together 46 commissaires from across the Nordic region for a weekend of collaboration, training and knowledge exchange. The seminar focused on current topics in officiating, updates from international bodies, and discipline-specific workshops covering Road, Cyclo-cross, MTB, BMX and Track.

The programme combined plenary sessions with practical workshops and provided an excellent platform for sharing best practices, strengthening cooperation between federations, and aligning approaches across disciplines. Participants also valued the opportunity to network and discuss common challenges and solutions in an open, constructive environment.

Following the meeting in Vilnius, two new working groups were established:

  • A Youth Commissaires Development Working Group, focusing on supporting younger commissaires with the potential to progress to UCI international level.
  • An MTB Exchange Working Group, supporting cross-border cooperation in MTB officiating.

The seminar once again highlighted the importance of Nordic cooperation in developing high-quality officiating and creating clear development pathways for future international commissaires within Nordic Cycling.
